Novocastria

Wednesday 15th December - Sunday 19th December

I stayed in Sydney for a few days. On Saturday I rode to the Glebe Market via Pyrmont. Glebe Market was pretty cool. I took some photos of things but they're stuck on my phone. I'll edit this post next time I remember to bring the correct card reader for the job.

Next up I rode to Newtown via the Wilson St bike route that @ had informed me about. (There are sections that are separated and other parts are quieter streets with bikes symbols painted). There were plenty of people riding this way which was probably the first time I felt like a part of Sydney while on the bike rather than a bug to be squashed as you might experince on Pitt or George Streets in the city. Newtown is very nice. My kinda place.

Here I picked up a copy of the first issue of Treadlie magazine which I highly recommend getting your hands on.

On Sunday I rode to Coogie Beach, then through the Waverley Cemetary, then to Bondi. Next I rode back to the city, then over the Sydney Harbour Bridge on the cycleway, then onto Cremorne Point, and then... after negotiating the difficult Spit Rd area... onto Manly for some fish and chips via the Sydney Harbour National Park lookouts. There it decided to dump rain. I caught the Manly ferry back to Circular Quay.

Caught the train to Newcastle. It takes about two and a half hours.

Here's some of the photos I've taken so far. (Running out of internet time!)
